Monthly series of talks to be inaugurated in Mumbai
We are delighted to inform you that the monthly series of
talks (titled Thursday Talks) which was launched in Chennai in September
2009, is to be inaugurated in Mumbai on Thursday, January 28, 2010.
Similar to
the Thursday Talks in Chennai, the talks in Mumbai will also focus on
various aspects of child development, and will be open to parents, teachers and
anyone with an interest in the subject. The talks will take place on the last
Thursday of every month during the school academic year, and will be organised
by the Indian Montessori Foundation and the Sir Ratan Tata Institute.
The first talk on Thursday, January 28, 2010, will be on The

5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Harmony Montessori School, Neel Nandini, A Block,
8th Linking Road, Opp. Tanishq Showroom, Khar (West), Mumbai. The talk
will be by Ms. Zarin Malva, Director of Training, Sir Ratan Tata Institute,

We hope the talks in Mumbai will be met with the same degree
of enthusiasm as the ones in Chennai. We request your ongoing support in
bringing together the parent and teacher community in Mumbai and providing them
valuable input on various aspects of child development.
Thursday Talk in Chennai: January 2010
The
next Thursday Talk in Chennai will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, between 5:30
p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Patasala Montessori School, 24, Ramanathan Street,
Mahalingapuram, Chennai - 34. The session will be titled ‘Preparing for Adolescence –
An Attempt at Understanding the Needs of the Child aged 9 to 15 years’.
The
intention behind this session is to shed light on the crucial years leading up
to adolescence and the initial years of adolescence from multiple perspectives.
We will have four people speaking on the day, each from a unique perspective: a trainer's perspective, a teacher's perspective, a parent's perspective and an adolescent's perspective.
At the lecture, we
will look at how a conducive environment can be created, both in the classroom
and at home, for the development of the adolescent.

Attachment to other people is the first stage which brings all men to work for a common ideal. It would be good for men if society could be constructed like this, but we cannot command this. It must come from nature. If nature is the basis, the construction will be superior, but without this there can only be an artificial construction which breaks down easily.
